Each engine rebuild will be a blueprint, which is a full strip and clean of all engine parts. All engine parts are measured and checked to and replaced if necessary. Full crankshaft assembly balance is performed, and compression and valve timing are checked and adjusted if necessary. This is a very labour intensive job but is the only way to build an engine in our opinion.
Engines can be built to customers specifications. Options for fitted race pistons, con rods, crankshafts lightened, race gearboxes, camshafts can be supplied plus lots more.
We can modify the cylinder for race use by what is known as ‘porting’. This involves the working of the inlet and exhaust ports of the cylinder head to help with the flow and speed of gas. By changing the shape and in some cases the size of the ports, it is possible to improve engine performance. This procedure has given great results in British Superbikes and is one of the biggest ways of finding more power. We can also machine the surface of the cylinder head to help the compression ratio as well as re-cutting the valve seat to a three angled seat.
We are also happy to work on other areas of the bike, such as fitting an aftermarket exhaust systems. We can also race prepare bikes and fully strip them, we remove and re-fit engines to make the rebuild even easier.
